A: Invisalign is the process of wearing a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth. People love Invisalign because there are no brackets and wires, and none of the restrictions that come with metal braces. Invisalign clear aligners are made of flexible plastic that is thin, clear, and fit snugly over your teeth, making them nearly invisible.
A: After an initial consultation, Dr. Lawlor will create a personalized treatment plan that shows the step-by-step transformation of your teeth over time. Depending on your specific needs, you will receive a series of Invisalign clear aligners made specifically for you. You will wear each set of aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, changing to a new set of aligners every 1 to 2 weeks. Each set of aligners will gently and gradually shift your teeth into place for a beautiful new smile. You will have scheduled check-ins with the Maine Dentistry team throughout the process to monitor your progress and ensure your aligners fit correctly.
A: Invisalign clear aligners are practically invisible, so most people won’t be able to tell you’re wearing them! You can remove the aligners to eat and drink, brush and floss, or for special occasions. There are no irritating metal brackets or wires, and Invisalign aligners are trimmed based on your gum line for optimal comfort and appearance.
A: The length of Invisalign treatment ultimately depends on how complex your case is and and how much movement is desired. Traditional Invisalign treatment can take between 12 to 18 months but with the use of Propel Accelerated Orthodontics, we can cut that treatment time in half! Your personalized treatment plan will include a projected amount of time for completion and simulations so you can track the changes as you go.
A: Invisalign treatment is a great solution for adults and teens looking for a less noticeable and non-invasive way to improve their smile. Invisalign’s custom treatment plans make it possible to fix nearly all common teeth-straightening and bite issues. A consultation with Dr. Lawlor will determine if it’s right for you!
A: In most cases, the cost of Invisalign treatment is similar to the cost of braces. After your initial consultation, Dr. Lawlor will determine the cost of your treatment based on how complex your case is and how many aligners you need.
Dr. Lawlor belongs to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists and has been specifically trained in cosmetic dentistry. The American Dental Association does not issue special certifications or licenses indicating which dentists are cosmetic dentists and which are not. The dentist you go to for twice-yearly check-ups is probably not going to be the same dentist you go to for cosmetic enhancement. Unless you’re in the qualified hands of Dr. Lawlor!
We bill most dental insurances and accept credit cards or CareCredit as forms of payments. Unfortunately, we don’t accept MaineCare. Any questions? We’re here to help!
