A Message From Dr. Lawlor

Maine Dentistry Family,

We are open!

The last few months have been a challenging period for all of us, and we thank you for being patient as we institute new protective measures and protocols. Please know we have been diligently preparing a safe and comfortable environment at Maine Dentistry for when you return. In the past few months, we have hired 4 new team members to help with sanitation and scheduling, opened a new downtown Portland location, installed glass barriers, installed air purification systems, revamped our protocols, acquired the appropriate protective equipment, and supported the local emergency rooms whenever needed. We have missed you terribly and are excited to see you once again!

In recent weeks, the Maine Dentistry team has been helping emergency dental patients—any Maine residents in need— to alleviate stress on local Emergency Rooms. We have also been busy allocating additional Protective Equipment to keep our team safe and prevent the spread of disease. Maine Dentistry has always upheld the strictest of standards, but in light of recent events, we have increased our protocols even more. Glass barriers are currently being installed throughout our Gray and Portland offices as well as the air purification systems (see what they can do at www.surgicallycleanair.com). Myself, our dental hygienists, and office staff are prepared with N95 masks, disposable gowns, face shields, and increased levels of protection to keep you and your families healthy, safe, and smiling.

To help catch everyone up on their appointments, we have added additional team members to help with sanitizing rooms, scheduling, fillings and cleanings. If your schedule offers flexibility, or if you would like to visit our Portland office, you can book online at www.MDPortland.com or let us know and we will put you on a priority list.

When arriving for a scheduled appointment, we ask that you arrive early, complete the screening questionnaire, bring a face covering and sweater or jacket (the additional protective equipment makes us hot!). Once here, please text our office at (207) 657-3553 and we will check your temperature before escorting you to a sanitized room. Please inform our team ahead of time if you have additional dental issues you would like addressed so we can allocate more time.

All of us at Maine Dentistry look forward to seeing you again and hope you and your family are safe. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us. Until we see you again, keep smiling and stay well.
