We get it.
You hate the dentist.
You’ve been trained to loathe the very word, and everything associated with it. That’s exactly what inspired us to rethink the dental experience, backed by decades of insights and know-how. Meet Maine Dentistry–our space feels both familiar and inviting, our crew seriously knows their stuff, and our approach promotes long-term luster over emergency care. We’ll be your partners in whole mouth health, with specialties in cosmetic, TMJ, and family dentistry. It’s about time to defy your dental expectations.
Meet Dr. Lawlor
Dr. Lawlor graduated from Dalhousie University and is a fellow with the International College of Oral Implantologists and was named among America’s Top Dentists in both 2016 and 2017. At the age of 14, Dr. Lawlor knew he wanted to become a dentist someday, but first joined the military out of high school and spent ten years in the Air Force. First as an enlisted avionics specialist, and finally as the dental director for the 101st Air Refueling Wing in Bangor, Maine. At Maine Dentistry, he is thrilled to bring his expertise to a range of family and cosmetic dental services from sedation, crowns and veneers, to implants, extractions and even Invisalign.
His approach is dedicated to comfort, quality, and no judgement experiences that will make others love the dentist as much as he always has. When he isn’t improving his dental expertise, he can be found hiking Cadillac mountain, white water rafting, kite boarding or skiing.
Lisa has been with Maine Cosmetic Dentistry for over 18 years, and her role is with the administrative team. She is responsible for many systems in the practice and enjoys helping patients understand their insurance benefits. She has been in dentistry for over 20 years. Lisa is definitely the one in the office who keeps everyone laughing! She has three grandchildren who light up her life, and she also loves to shop.
Lori has been involved with Dentistry for over ten years and still enjoys helping patients get the treatment they need. Lori is the friendly face that greats you when you walk in, and she also handles our cosmetic consultations. She has two grown children and is very involved in their athletic endeavors.
Jane has been working with Maine Cosmetic Dentistry for over twenty years as a dental hygienist. Jane graduated from University College of Bangor with an associate of science in dental hygiene and was actually one of twenty-four students in the first graduating class! Jane’s career has led her to hold dental hygiene licenses in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. She has settled in Gray, Maine for the last twenty years. In her spare time, Jane enjoys beginner gardening, reading, history, and trivia (which she always wins at the office). Jane considers her patients friends – like family even – and she has enjoyed the confidence that they have in her and the respect they have for the office.
Carolyn is our newest addition to the hygiene team and brings much enthusiasm with her. A southern Maine native, she graduated from the University of New England in 2014. Her passion is to make patients feel comfortable in their dental home and form lasting relationships. Carolyn is known to be bubbly and chatty, which she puts to use volunteering with the middle school youth group at her local church. If she isn’t telling you a story about the kids, she is likely telling you about her two cats or anything Disney related. She can’t wait to meet the patients who make up Maine Dentistry!
Daria graduated as a Dental Hygienist from the University of New England in 2011. She is involved with multiple dental hygiene study groups in order to stay current in the field.
Her goal is to treat each person as an individual and give the best treatment possible while educating and informing them of their current oral health. She always has a smile on her face and aspires to give her patients a positive experience.
Daria resides in Portland with her husband, four children, and two dogs.
In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering, power yoga, and trying out new healthy recipes.
