You hate the dentist.

You’ve been trained to loathe the very word, and everything associated with it. That’s exactly what inspired us to rethink the dental experience, backed by decades of insights and know-how. We’ll be your partners in whole mouth health, with specialties in cosmetic, TMJ, and family dentistry. It’s about time to defy your dental expectations.

Her energetic and outgoing personality and love of building relationships serves her well every day at the practice.
Outside of work, April has been happily married to her husband for eighteen years and both are blessed with four beautiful children. They love going to the beach, camping, trail riding, and snowmobiling together in their free time.

Christine is passionate about learning all that she can to provide the best possible care to her patients. She feels strongly about the importance of educating people on maintaining good oral health as an essential piece of their overall health. Christine places great value on the relationships that she forms with her patients, and she can’t wait to meet you!

Donna

Donna has worked with Maine Cosmetic Dentistry for over twenty years as a dental hygienist. A graduate of University College of Bangor, Donna began practicing dental hygiene in 1979 and has continued to grow in her profession ever since. Donna takes advantage of all Maine has to offer and can be found playing tennis, biking, hiking, playing golf, and skiing in her spare time with her husband. She is also very active in church and spends many weekends (and work nights) offering marriage and family mentoring.

Jane

Jane has been working with Maine Cosmetic Dentistry for over twenty years as a dental hygienist. Jane graduated from University College of Bangor with an associate of science in dental hygiene and was actually one of twenty-four students in the first graduating class! Jane’s career has led her to hold dental hygiene licenses in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. She has settled in Gray, Maine for the last twenty years. In her spare time, Jane enjoys beginner gardening, reading, history, and trivia (which she always wins at the office). Jane considers her patients friends – like family even – and she has enjoyed the confidence that they have in her and the respect they have for the office.

Lorie

Lorie has worked with Maine Cosmetic Dentistry for over twenty years as a dental hygienist. After graduating from Bangor Community College in 1983, Lorie began her hygiene career right away. Lorie’s hobbies are making jams, relishes, and mustards, making quilts, and working in her perennial gardens. She also enjoys snowmobiling in the Katahdin Region of Maine with her husband.

Carolyn

Carolyn is our newest addition to the hygiene team and brings much enthusiasm with her. A southern Maine native, she graduated from the University of New England in 2014. Her passion is to make patients feel comfortable in their dental home and form lasting relationships. Carolyn is known to be bubbly and chatty, which she puts to use volunteering with the middle school youth group at her local church. If she isn’t telling you a story about the kids, she is likely telling you about her two cats or anything Disney related. She can’t wait to meet the patients who make up Maine Dentistry!

Meet Dr. Lawlor

Dr. Lawlor graduated from Dalhousie University and is a fellow with the International College of Oral Implantologists and was named among America’s Top Dentists in both 2016 and 2017. At the age of 14, Dr. Lawlor knew he wanted to become a dentist someday, but first joined the military out of high school and spent ten years in the Air Force. First as an enlisted avionics specialist, and finally as the dental director for the 101st Air Refueling Wing in Bangor, Maine. At Maine Dentistry, he is thrilled to bring his expertise to a range of family and cosmetic dental services from sedation, crowns and veneers, to implants, extractions and even Invisalign.

His approach is dedicated to comfort, quality, and no judgement experiences that will make others love the dentist as much as he always has. When he isn’t improving his dental expertise, he can be found hiking Cadillac mountain, white water rafting, kite boarding or skiing.

Not everyone can
do what we do

Dr. Lawlor belongs to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists and has been specifically trained in cosmetic dentistry. The American Dental Association does not issue special certifications or licenses indicating which dentists are cosmetic dentists and which are not. The dentist you go to for twice-yearly check-ups is probably not going to be the same dentist you go to for cosmetic enhancement. Unless you’re in the qualified hands of Dr. Lawlor!
